“so that He may guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His loyal followers.” (Proverbs 2:8)
There are so many people, out there, who are under the wrong impression that everyone is under God’s watchful care. I realize that this is what they really want to believe, but the reality is that they are wrong, not because I say so, but because God says so in today’s Scripture. It is extremely important to know and understand what God has to say because His Word is Truth and no other word, belief, or philosophy matters. Look at what He is saying to us:
-
“so that He may guard the paths of justice…” – God protects the paths of the just, those who have placed all their faith and confidence in Him, and belong to Him. God is the only one that has the power to do this. God does not say that He protects everyone’s paths.
-
“and protect the way of His loyal followers.” – God protects only His “loyal followers”; the ones who are God-fearing, who strive to be Christ-like, who strive to be holy, who love God with all their hearts and strive to live in immediate, radical and costly obedience to His commands.
God does this by…
-
His grace and promise not protect us from falling away from Him: “He keeps us alive and does not allow our feet to slip (Psalms 66:9), and, “He guards the steps of His faithful ones… (1 Samuel 2:9)”.
-
sending His angels to protect His faithful followers: “For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways (Psalms 91:11)”.
Satan’s job is to deceive and convince us that we are all ok with God, just the way we are. Has he done this to you? Wouldn’t you rather know, for sure, that you belong to God and that He is protecting you every moment of every day? If this is what you want, here’s what God wants you to do:
- Recognize that you’re a sinner and thank Him for sending Jesus, His only Son, to die on the cross in order to pay the ultimate price for your sin (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8) and raising Him from the dead in order to give you eternal life (John 3:16-18; Ephesians 1:13-14).
- Tell Him that, at this moment, you willfully and intentionally choose to stop living your life in rebellion against Him and choose to start living your life as His disciple; that you commit to seeking Him, every day; following Him, every day; and that you will strive live in immediate, radical, costly obedience to Him and only Him, no matter the cost – even if it costs you your life (2 Corinthians 5:15; Romans 10:9-10). Then, do it.
This is the only way you can become God’s child (John 1:12) and experience the fullness of His love, goodness, joy, peace and perfect care. Do this right now!
If you did this, God is so happy with you and wants to start working in your life and through your life. Please send me a message letting me know that you did it so that I can pray for you as you begin a new life in Christ.
Now, wouldn’t it be a great thing for your family, loved ones and friends to have the peace, joy, love and security you now have?! Go tell them, right now, why you chose to follow Jesus. Let me know how it goes. I look forward to hearing from you.
In Christ’s love,
Phil
